Ravichandran Ashwin, India's new spinner, tied the knot today, 13th November 2011, with his childhood friend Preethi Narayanan. In a low-key wedding ceremony, the media was kept completely away with the function being attended by only family members and close friends.

The off-spinner had a memorable Test debut with a nine-wicket haul in the first Test against the West Indies in Delhi. After his traditional Hindu-style wedding, he along with his wife flew to Kolkata, where a reception has been planned at the team hotel for his Indian teammates.

What is interesting to know is that Ashwin is to play in a Test Match tomorrow, the very next day of his marriage. Last month Gautam Gambhir married Natasha, a local businessman's daughter whom he met a year ago. Gambhir had missed India's only Twenty20 encounter against England on account of his marriage.

Ashwin's impressive haul in Delhi Test included six in the second innings of a match which India won with more than a day to spare.

The 25-year-old Ashwin made his ODI and Twenty20 debuts last year for Chennai Super Kings. His wonderful Test debut, made the selectors include him in the next Test Match which is scheduled to start tomorrow, the 14th November, at Kolkata.

Edit Favicon feature in Blogger/Blogspot design tab not working; Not a square image error - SOLVED

It was very frustrating for me to add a Favicon to my Blogger/Blogspot when I tried it for the first time. 


The errors I faced were:
1) Not a square image
2) Javascript (void) error


It was very time consuming and I tried out many solutions over the internet and ultimately found out the easy and right solution. So, I am writing this post to help avoid the horror to other blogger/blogspot users.


SOLUTION:


Step 1: Goto the site - http://www.favicongenerator.com/

Step 2:  Locate the image that you would like to use as your Favicon (try to use small sized images as they can be easily comprehended in the small favicon size.


Step 3: Browse to the file's location on your computer and select the image.


Step 4: Press the Generate Favicon! button.


Step 5: Click "Click Here to Download Your Favicon!". After downloading, simply refer the image to the favicon gadget in blogger/blogspot.


Step 6: Only if you use your own site (other than Blogger/Blogspot). Copy and paste the following code to the <head> section of your webpages:

Note: Here, the downloaded favicon has to be pasted in the root directory. And favicon.ico has to be replaced with the file name which you have saved the downloaded favicon.

Legendary Andy Rooney No More - Former '60 Minutes' Commentator Dies At Age 92; Friday 4th Novemeber, 2011

Legendary CBS News commentator Andy Rooney died on Friday, 4th November, 2011 at night in New York. He was 92. Andy Rooney was known to millions for his witty essays on various topics which made for a very good read and view.

He died after being hospitalised for a few days. He was suffering from complications following a minor surgery last month.

Jeff Fager, chairman of CBS News and the executive producer of '60 Minutes', was quoted saying, "It's a sad day at '60 Minutes' and for everybody here at CBS News. It's hard to imagine not having Andy around. He loved his life and he lived it on his own terms. Rooney had made his last regular weekly appearance on '60 Minutes' on October 2, 2011.
