Legendary CBS News commentator Andy Rooney died on Friday, 4th November, 2011 at night in New York. He was 92. Andy Rooney was known to millions for his witty essays on various topics which made for a very good read and view.
He died after being hospitalised for a few days. He was suffering from complications following a minor surgery last month.
Jeff Fager, chairman of CBS News and the executive producer of '60 Minutes', was quoted saying, "It's a sad day at '60 Minutes' and for everybody here at CBS News. It's hard to imagine not having Andy around. He loved his life and he lived it on his own terms. Rooney had made his last regular weekly appearance on '60 Minutes' on October 2, 2011.
